Charlie’s studying the civil war and the failed opportunity by the Union Army to potentially end the war after victory at Gettysburg. In an attempt to be helpful, I told Charlie, “that’s cause Lincoln’s generals were weak sauce.”

I graduated with honors in History – and took a full year of upper division military US history at PSU. Not sure Dr. Heath would have been impressed with the insightful thesis that included the term "weak sauce". I guess old age and real-life have faded my academic vocabulary.

I stand, however, by the statement.
